Legend has it that fairies seek out a horse in the night to ride. The fairies are said to tie the mane to use for stirrups and reins, playing in an out of the mane of the horse causing the knots. When you find the messy fairy knots in your horses mane you have been grace by the luck of the fairies.
This 20x20 original acrylic on a gallery wrapped canvas is such a magical piece - the brilliant blue sparkle of this horses eye as the fairies begin to play in an around his mane are mesmerizing.
In my search for the perfect horse to paint, I ran up on a photograph of a wild horse, taken by Sandy Starkey Photography. Thank you to Sandy Starkey Photography.
